Jane Perkolup

Jane Perkolup is the "church lady who rocks." Her music career started out at about age seven in a high archway, as part of a trio of angels singing "O Holy Night" in the annual Christmas pageant with her older brother, Jim, harrassing her from his crouched position behind a cardboard camel below. Thus began a career of singing and harrassment in some of the finest churches around.

High school and college years led Jane down the path of folk music. Piano lessons were left behind for the lure of her first guitar, a Stella tenor. With the addition of sandals, a long skirt and waist length hair she was "in, man." Her sweet soprano voice was featured as a soloist and in groups from her Wisconsin homeland to her current residence in Illinois.

The advent of contemporary Christian music brought the perfect spirit to her style. For the last ten years she and her husband, Steve VerHalen, have been "making music together" under the name Living Oasis . Jane serves as lead vocalist, guitarist and arranger.
